The problem we started with

Search for a stroller fan and you get four hundred listings, most of them the same white-label unit with a different logo, all claiming to be the best. The reviews are unreliable, the specifications are copy-pasted, and the only way to find out which one is decent is to buy several and find out the hard way.

That is more or less what we do — except we do it first, at our own expense, and then only sell the winner.

How a product gets into the catalog

• We shortlist based on the specification that actually matters for that category — not the one the listing shouts about.
• We buy the shortlist at full retail price, anonymously. No supplier samples, no arrangements.
• We live with each candidate for at least three weeks of ordinary use.
• We keep the one that clearly beats the alternatives. Often none of them do, and the category stays empty.

What we will not do

• We do not list a product we have not used ourselves.
• We do not publish reviews we did not receive from a verified customer.
• We do not run countdown timers, fake stock counters, or invented "was" prices.
• We do not pad the catalog. A short list is the product.
