The story
Wireless car chargers fail at two things: holding the phone and shedding heat. A hot phone throttles charging, which is why so many of them charge slower than the cable in your glovebox.
MagDock uses an N52 magnet ring strong enough to hold a large phone with a case through a pothole, and a small fan that keeps the coil cool enough to sustain the full 15W instead of tapering after five minutes. The vent clip is a metal hook rather than plastic, with a silicone sleeve so it does not chew up the blade.
The ball joint has a real detent — set your angle once and it stays there instead of slowly nodding toward the floor.

A whisper-quiet fan keeps the charging coil in range, so 15W is what you get for the whole drive rather than the first five minutes.

Running maps with the screen bright used to drain faster than the pad could charge. This one holds steady and even gains. The fan is audible if the car is silent but disappears under road noise.
Holds my Pro Max with a thick case without a wobble. One caution — my vent blades are very thin and it sits at a slight angle. The ball joint compensates but worth measuring first.
